While promoting his new film The Gambler, Mark Wahlberg shed some light on the status of the Transformers franchise. Wahlberg spoke to MTV about where he stands with the films fifth installment.
“Yeah, I committed to doing a couple more”
Wahlberg also went on to address the status of Transformers director turned producer, Michael Bay.
“you know I can’t speak for Mr. Bay, but something tells me we’ll be on the set soon.”
Age Of Extinction was Wahlberg’s first foray into the war of Autobots and Decepticons, as earlier films had Shia LaBeouf playing the lead role. Wahlberg certainly didn’t get lost in the translation, as Transformers: Age Of Extinction went on to gross over $1.08 billion at the box office this past year.
In fact, the film was so successful that Paramount has laid out groundwork for not only the fifth installment, but a six as well. It is expected that the fifth Transformers film will have a release date during the summer of 2016.
