Will Tom Brady be the NFL MVP?

Raj: I really want him to considering all the adversity he has had to overcome. In my heart, I still think he should be the MVP. But as a practical football fan, this season’s NFL MVP has to be Aaron Rodgers. That dude is having one of the most insane seasons for a QB ever. Remember when he told everyone to relax after the Packers were losing some bad games? Well he came through and is the sole reason to why the Packers are where they are right now. His composure through recent games, even during intense moments, has been excellent. I feel bad because Brady hasn’t been that bad either (in fact, he has been great), but Rodgers is just a little bit better with the way he is playing and leading his team. No shame in conceding that.

Rick: Tom Brady has had a fantastic season for New England, but I think he won’t be the MVP of the league. I would put two players above him on the list. JJ Watt would be one of them because he has been the best defensive player in football with 16.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and he’s even catching touchdowns on offense. The other one would be Aaron Rodgers. I know the Packers’ quarterback had a mediocre game against the Bills last week, but Rodgers has had a great season with 35 touchdowns to 5 interceptions and he doesn’t make mistakes at Lambeau Field as the Patriots know very well. Brady is in my Top 3, but I think players like Gronkowski and Revis make it a little easier to pass up Brady for this award and instead, giving it to someone like Watt or Rodgers.

Kyle: Since Tom Brady isn’t the MVP of the Pats, he shouldn’t win the league MVP. Revis is the Pats MVP, followed by Gronk, the Brady. He should be in the top five in the league- my order is: 1)Revis 2) Roethlisberger 3)Gronk 4) Rogers 5) Brady – Rogers cost himself the award last Sunday in Orchard Park.

Derek: It all hinges on the Detroit Lions.  Assuming that the Packers get by the lowly Buccaneers, they will have a Week 17 matchup against the Lions that will likely determine the division championship.  If Green Bay loses that game to finish 11-5 and is the 6th seed in the NFC and Tom Brady’s Patriots are sitting at 13-3 with the best record in the entire NFL, then you have a strong case for Tom Brady.  Even still, the NFL media has its nose so firmly snuggled up next to Aaron Rodger’s jockstrap that even that outcome may not be enough.  In all honesty, I’d be fine with Tom Brady being passed over for the award.  The last NFL MVP to win the Super Bowl was Kurt Warner in 1999.  That’s fifteen years of stink that I want nowhere near this team.
