Epic game. Wings trail the Predators in the standings by a point and they go 65 minutes and four rounds of shootout before a single puck crossed the goal line and then another seven rounds before a winner emerged. With the two points, the Wings jump to the 6th spot (thanks to losses from the Avs and Kings) in the standings and trail the Predators and the 5th spot by just a point. The Red Wings are the hottest team in hockey right now, as they have a five game winning streak.
And if you want to see a blooper, watch the shootout in its entirety, below, and look for Patrick Eaves, who was playing his 300th NHL game, deking himself out of his skates (pic above). I imagine that’s how it would have looked if the Wings had to use Al Sabotka in, like, round 31.
