The Battle 4 Atlantis is arguably the most talent-rich early season tournament that the NCAA has to offer in 2014. Headlined by three teams currently ranked in the top 10 in the country, this year’s tournament at Paradise Island will most likely be the most exciting and entertaining tournament of the year. And luckily for fans looking to go, there is still plenty of time.
The tournament begins on Wednesday, November 26th at 12:00pm with a meeting between the 6th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels and the Butler Bulldogs. The Tar Heels have been out of the national discussion for a few years now but Roy Williams has put together a squad that has the potential to succeed where teams of recent past have failed. The game immediately following UNC vs. Butler will be the UCLA bruins and the Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners will be the favorite as they are the 18th ranked team in the nation, but UCLA is right on the brink of getting enough votes to qualify for the top 25 in the AP Poll and a win against Oklahoma would probably be enough to do it.
Then that night at 7:00pm it will be your Wisconsin Badgers against the UAB Blazers. Frank Kaminsky and company will look to defeat UAB and await a potential matchup with the 8th ranked Florida Gators who will face the Georgetown Hoyas in the second night game. Florida will most likely fall a bit in the rankings following their 69-67 loss to the Miami Hurricanes, but you can expect the Badgers to get all they can handle if those two teams do meet up.
Badgers fans should make sure to check out flights at Hipmunk to the Paradise Islands if you are looking to attend the tournament. You’ll be able to find the best deals on flights, as well as the best Paradise Island hotels so it is highly recommended that you check out their website.
With the potential for two games against top 10 teams, you will get to see Wisconsin up against the very best in the nation so it’s guaranteed the level of play will be extraordinary.
