Wisconsin vs. Alabama was curiously missing when ESPN announced it’s primetime schedule earlier this month. There apparently was a reason for it, as it was announced on Thursday that the Badgers and Crimson Tide will indeed be on primetime.
It’s just that the two foes will square off in the first ABC primetime game of the season instead of being put on cable television. The game will kick at 7pm CT, and it’s only right considering where these two teams have been over the course of the last few years.
The two teams will clash in the Advocare Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas — the home of the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL and the home to the Green Bay Packers’ last Super Bowl triumph.
It will also be the first game for new Badgers head coach Paul Chryst, after taking over for the departed Gary Andersen this offseason.
Thursday’s announcement gives the Badgers at two prime-time games in 2015, as UW’s Sept. 26 matchup with Hawaii at Camp Randall will also kick off at 7 p.m. Wisconsin is 36-29 all-time in night games, including a 6-3 mark on neutral fields.
Wisconsin also knows start times for its homecoming game against Purdue (Oct 17, 11am CT), at Illinois (Oct 24, 2:30 p.m.) and will make its inaugural trip to College Park, Maryland, to take on the Terrapins on Nov. 7 (2:30 p.m.).
