Wisdom and Links: The Jaff Awakens

-14

In honor of the coming release of The Force Awakens, perhaps now is as good as any for me to reveal my pitch to Disney and Lucasfilms for my standalone Star Wars film, The Jaff Awakens, in which nearly everything would be named after a baseball player:

Our hero is Jaff Decker, a smuggler from the planet Arruebarrena who owns the starship “Skye Bolt”. He’s in a bit of a pickle, though, as he owes a hefty debt to crime lord Cam Bedrosian. To get the credits, Decker realizes he’ll have to steal them from the corrupt Banking Clan of the Kozma system, and their leader, Narcisco Crook.

To do this, of course, he needs to put together a team:

Together, these five, joined by the Kaminoan called Fu-Te Ni (), will dare to rob the Banking Clan of Kozma. A hero will arise, a Jaff will awaken…

Wait… “Jaff” is pronounced like “Jeff”? Crud, that totally ruins it, doesn’t it? Well, at least I went the entire time without mentioning Joba Chamberlain.

Wait… I just did.

D’oh!

LINKS!

I am taking this week’s Links section to share with you one important link: the announcement of the First Annual Baseball Continuum Blogathon for Charity ()! This is, of course, something of a SELF-PROMOTION, but it’s a self-promotion for a good cause, as, starting on January 29, the Baseball Continuum will be doing at least three days of constant content, with at least one post per hour. The first day will be all me, but then, the next two days (at least) will have pieces from people from all around the world (and the internet!), ranging from relative unknowns to published authors!

There will also be giveaways!

And all of this will be for a very good cause: raising money for the cancer research and treatment conducted at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Roswell Park, based in Buffalo, is the oldest Cancer Center in the USA, and has affiliations both regionally and around the world.

It should be a lot of fun, and more importantly it should help raise money for a great cause.

So, if you are interested in taking part in any way, check out the Continuum.

Next week, join us as we again celebrate the birth of the Man of Steal, Rickey Henderson. It will truly be a merry Rickeymas.
