With changes galore, the Bucs Wide Receiving Corps have been one bright spot

And that is about the only position on the Bucs team that can say that. Offensive line has been a virtual musical chairs with Keydrick Vincent, Jeremy Trueblood, Davin Joseph and Jeff Faine all gone from the opening day lineup. Good thing the Bucs decided to pony up for Donald Penn huh? Even the running backs had an Earnest Graham and Cadillac Williams as starters against Cleveland. Well half of that is gone. But at Wide receiver, the theme has been ‘steady as she goes’ for the most part. Sure Arrelious Benn needed a little more time as he has been a perfectly normal rookie. Sammy Stroughter really isnt starter material, he is a great third down WR, and I dont know why the Bucs don’t look at him as a punt returner, I think Spurlock is a better Kick Off specialist, but his punt returns have been a little less spectacular. Then again the bar is getting set high around here. I mean Spurlock has now gone a full year without a punt return for a touchdown. Talk about a drought. On defense, the Bucs have been a little more steady except at the secondary position, more importantly at Safety where only the Offensive line has been more offensive at committing change. Tanard Jackson begat Cody Grimm who begat Corey Lynch, and its going to be of biblical proportions if Lynch goes down because they will have to see if John Lynch can come out of retirement for a few games. On the Defensive line, Brian Price has had a forgettable rookie season, first not getting in anywhere near enough OTA time in because of NCAA rules and then a lingering hamstring issue, then the hip. Here is hoping 2011 is better, because the Bucs have had an improved Roy Miller as of late, but Brian Price is like another Gerald McCoy, fast and able to penetrate quickly. On passing downs, having both those guys in there at their best will be great for the Bucs pass rushing woes. Linebackers have been the most stable section on the team, but Quincy Black has had some health issues this past week, and could find his job yielding to Dekoda Watson, who himself is having a nice rookie campaign. Watson seems to be a little more physical than either of the linebackers, and Barrett Rudd has responded well to criticism by playing a little harder at times. Any way you look at it, the 2010 Tampa Bay Buccaneers have really played above expectations, and it’s now safe to assume this Bucs team is going to play competitive exciting football for years and years to come.
