Bet ya didn’t see that coming?
Here’s a look at some of the scouting reports
Scouting report: Yabusele is known for his incredible strength on the block. He tends to bully his defenders and use his explosiveness to get easy looks under the basket. Despite his strength and impressive frame, Yabusele is both nimble and quick on his feet. Also, Yabusele can hit 3-pointers from deep, something NBA teams would love to have. Yabusele believes that he can use his range to find success overseas.
Yabusele also has great potential as a shooter, with a decent stroke that allowed him to hit 42.6 percent from outside for Rouen on 61 attempts. He needs some continued development on his release to gain more consistency, as he went through cold stretches this year and he struggles with shooting over close-outs. But in the future, there’s potential he can be a pick-and-pop option, something he has done a lot with the French national team. To reach this status, he will need development in screen-setting, as well – Yabusele is prone to slipping screens prematurely and he struggles to use his body to cut off a defender’s path. The raw talents are there for him to slip into this role, but it will take some time.
Here are some highlights.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKW52-2DqMc]On the ESPN Broadcast, they called him a potentially good small-ball 4 and added “everyone is looking for the next Draymond Green”… so this could be Boston’s attempt at that.
What is clear right now is… every trade for the Celtics has fallen though, and they’re making selections for guys who are going to be looked at as contributors for this team moving forward.
This is not ideal… this is probably plan C… and if it continues, These guys all better pan out.
Edit… or not
For Boston, Guerschon Yabusele will likely be draft-and-stash at No. 16, league sources tell The Vertical.
