Wolves 105, Warriors 97

Wolves record: 24-55
Sebastian Telfair scored 21 points, including a pair of key 3-pointers down the stretch, and Kevin Love added 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Golden State Warriors 105-97 on Wednesday.
Craig Smith had 14 points for Minnesota, which had six players score in double figures.
Love, who didn’t play in Sunday’s game against Denver due to the flu, sat out the entire fourth quarter but still finished with his 18th double-doubles in the last 32 games. The fifth overall pick in the 2008 draft, has 28 double-doubles on the season, tops among all NBA rookies…
Minnesota G Randy Foye sat out his sixth straight game due to a sore left hip.
In a game that featured a Warriors team that has flourished at home (21-17 record coming in) and a Wolves team with the second-best road record in the Western Conference by a non-playoff-bound team at 12-27, something had to give.
Though they didn’t guard each other often, the marquee individual matchup was between rookie lottery-pick forwards Kevin Love of Minnesota and Anthony Randolph of Golden State.
Love was effective in the post, using his brawn and ability to finish with either hand against the lanky Warriors defenders. He finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

“You never want to accept losing,” Love said. “I was happy with our play, and I’m happy with the win.”

• McHale used point guards Bobby Brown, Kevin Ollie and Sebastian Telfair together for a telling second-half stretch. Telfair scored 14 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter.

• Carney didn’t play for a second consecutive night because of a bruised hip sustained Sunday.
11 Rebounds by the Wolves’ Shelden Williams, who also had three assists, two steals and a block.
