The Wolves could not have scripted a more
inauspicious start, firing blanks the first 3 minutes, 24 seconds while
Denver nailed its first five field-goal attempts and roared to an early
lead. Add a 6-0 run to start the third quarter, and the Nuggets
combined for 18 points out of the locker room before the Wolves could
find the basket.

"We just gave up way too many easy points – fast breaks, alley-oops, lobs," guard Marko Jaric said. "It’s hard to win when you allow that many easy points."
Wolves record: 4-28
From the AP Recap:
Carter, a former Minnesota guard and one of the stars of Thursday’s
victory, hit his first four shots and finished with a season-high 11
assists and 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting. The veteran point guard
ignited Denver’s fast start by pushing the ball up the court and was a
big reason the Nuggets outscored Minnesota 24-4 on the fast break.
From the Star Tribune:
34 Rashad McCants’ point total, a career high. The Wolves shooting guard had scored 15 points combined in his three previous games.
Wittman reconfigured his starting lineup Friday by reuniting point
guards Jaric and Sebastian Telfair in the backcourt — an attempt to
find some direction and leadership that had been lacking during the
Wolves’ latest slide. Wittman also subbed Craig Smith for Michael
Doleac to match rangy Denver center Marcus Camby and keep Wolves star
Al Jefferson close to the basket, but he pulled Smith from the floor
early in each half.
