Wolves 82, Hornets 100

Wolves record: 1-7

The Wolves stayed close through much of three quarters and trailed
56-54 at 5:17 of the third. But New Orleans used a balanced scoring
attack to rip off a 20-7 run and Minnesota never seriously challenged
again.

What makes tonight upsetting is how the Timberwolves folded in
the second half as a whole, not waiting until the fourth quarter to do
so…

Wolves coach Randy Wittman reconfigured his starting lineup because of
center Theo Ratliff’s injured knee and defensive considerations, hoping
it’d help reveal a team determined to rebound from Friday’s 16-point
home loss.
Instead, Wittman called the Wolves’ seventh loss in their first eight games the most disappointing of the season.

Antoine Walker and Corey Brewer replaced Theo Ratliff (injury) and Ryan
Gomes in the starting lineup, alongside Jefferson, Marko Jaric and
Rashad McCants.
