Wolves Updates 09/09 Part 2

Mike Trudell/Timberwolves site spoke to Chris Richard after the player’s workout at the Target Center.
MT: You and Corey Brewer have been here working at Target Center nearly every day this summer. How will the work pay off?
Richard: I feel like I’ve gotten a lot better offensively and
defensively. I understand the game a lot better, and everything is
starting to come a little easier.

MT: Towards that end, in any professional sport, it’s accepted that
the biggest jump for a player is between his first and second year.

Richard: Things are a lot easier this year. I’m grasping the concepts
that I didn’t (fully understand) last season and I’ve been here all
summer to work on it. I’ve been working a lot with the coaches and with
Al Jefferson, and also Ryan Gomes, learning a lot.

John Hollinger/ESPN on summer transactions:
Craig Smith’s two-year deal with Minnesota was a low-risk move and will have good value if he keeps his weight down because the dude can really play around the basket. But I’d feel better if he showed up to camp 15 pounds lighter…

Sebastian Telfair isn’t any kind of star, but he is getting better at running an offense. His three-year deal to be the backup point guard in Minnesota seems in line with the market.

944 Magazine hosted their 2nd year anniversary affair at Kress which doubled as a pre VMA jam. Triple K threat, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian hosted the party while select Hollywood “it” girls downed Bombay sapphire. The talk of the night was Khloe’s closeness with Rashad McCants from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
