Wolves Updates 09/13

It’s too bad Collins will be out because the Wolves could have used his size for their depth. But the question must be asked: will golfing soon be added to player contracts in the list of "dangerous" activities players need to avoid to avoid injury?

Bill Ingram/Hoospworld on "five who must step up" this season:

Corey Brewer – Apparently the seventh pick in the NBA Draft isn’t all it used to be, but come on. The Timberwolves passed on Al Thornton and Rodney Stuckey to take Brewer, who averaged 5.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 37% from the field as a rookie. He started 35 games, but in those starts he showed that he’s actually better off the bench. His shooting percentage dropped to 35% from the field and 7% (yes, that’s a seven) from behind the arch when he started. There won’t be a lot of pressure to win in Minnesota this year, and Brewer better take advantage of increased minutes to improve his game. Fans in Minny will only tolerate losing for so long, and those who contribute to the losses will be gone.
