Game previews:
With injured Kevin Love probably three weeks away from making his season debut, the Timberwolves have lost 12 consecutive games. At 1-12 after Saturday’s 106-78 loss at Portland, they are starting to tread toward record territory.

A loss tonight to the Clippers in Los Angeles would tie them for the franchise’s worst start, 1-13 in the 1994-95 season.

The franchise’s longest losing streak is 16 games, in 1991-92 and again in 1993-94.

The Wolves-Suns game Friday at Target Center was scheduled for an unusually late 8:30 p.m. tip as the second half of an ESPN Friday night doubleheader.
The game has been scratched from the ESPN schedule and replaced by the Oklahoma City-Milwaukee game that features Bucks rookie sensation Brandon Jennings and Kevin Durant and Co.
Coach Kurt Rambis reiterated Sunday that he was pleased with the way his team ran the floor in spurts. But it takes only one possession, turnover or scoring run by an opponent for them to unravel.

“It’s not just one thing. It’s a turnover here. A missed shot there,” Rambis said. “It’s a poor decision. Not transitioning. Somebody not getting to their man. Somebody not defending the pick-and-roll.

“It’s never the exact same thing. It’s just one little thing, and it keeps snowballing.”
