Wolves Updates 12/1

“I think everybody’s body felt better today,” Wolves forward Damien Wilkins said Monday. “When you lose so many games, when you lose like we’ve been losing, it just hurts. It hurts all over. Your family hurts. Your friends hurt. The city hurts. Everything is just painful. Today, we were a lot looser than we have been in the past.

“You saw confidence in practice today for the first time in a long time, and that was important.”

Rambis credited his players’ improved focus at practice — starting with a spirited, fun one Thanksgiving morning, continuing with inspired ones Saturday after a 25-point loss to Phoenix the night before and again Monday — for their best performance of the season Sunday.

But not Sunday. Minnesota coach Kurt Rambis made a savvy move, inserting Wilkins into the lineup at forward and sending Ryan Hollins to the bench because he believed Wilkins and forward Ryan Gomes would better match up with Denver counterparts Anthony and Martin.

From Lea B. Olsen/Star Tribune:
Jonny Flynn is a breath of fresh air for the Timberwolves this season.  The rookie is struggling with all of the losing going on in Target Center.  Yet, his approach to his job is professional and his willingness to do the of-court community appearances is refreshing.
