Britt Robson/On The Ball on the game in Atlanta:
Brewer will appropriately get the huzzahs and generate the warm fuzzies
because he’s a current rook and future bedrock, but Jaric was the
Wolves’ MVP tonight. His fabulous line–18 points (6-13 FG, 5-5 FT), 9
assists (albeit with 5 turnovers), 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and a plus +7
in 38:42 of a one point loss–wasn’t even quite as good as his actual
performance…

Corey Brewer’s 18 rebounds at Atlanta were a season-high for rookies,
and just two away from Dean Garrett’s team rookie record. In a
season-high 44 minutes, Brew added five assists and four steals.

On Minnesota’s side, there is so, so much that is wrong with rookie Corey Brewer’s stat line. He’s not a rebounder, but he pulled in 18 boards in 44 minutes. He was a little turnover prone, but he didn’t turn the ball over once in spite of fact that he was on the floor for so long. He also managed to take 15 shots and only score six points. All of which tells me that he’s listening to Antoine Walker, but he’s not listening to all of what Antoine has to say. Open your ears, CB…
