Previews for tonight’s game at Chicago:
Not McHale, who said before the game that he didn’t have any problem with a report that guard Rashad McCants attended a New Year’s Eve party thrown hosted by Kim Kardashian in Las Vegas.
“If he was in Vegas for New Year’s, he must have got on a quick flight and got back here,” McHale said. “I did not know that one of our guys was in (Vegas). I don’t ask them where they’re going. I expect them to show up on time and practice hard.”
Wednesday was a day off for the Wolves, who played Tuesday in Dallas and returned to practice Thursday.
Friday night’s game was another long one for guard Rashad McCants, who went 0 for 3 from the floor and played a little more than 6 1/2 minutes.
“Rashad’s got talent,” McHale said. “It’s just a matter of, you’ve just got to bring it out every night.”
Cardinal rising: After playing in just 10 of the Wolves’ first 26 games, veteran forward Brian Cardinal appeared in his sixth straight Friday, scoring four points in a little more than 11 minutes.
From Brian Stensaas and Jerry Zgoda/Star Tribune:
Exiled New York Knicks guard and former Timberwolf Stephon Marbury attended Friday night’s game at Target Center to see from the fifth row his cousin, Sebastian Telfair, play against the Golden State Warriors…
• On being back in Minnesota: “It’s great to be back in Minnesota. … I enjoyed playing here. I was born and bred here. The fans treated me great. When I came back [with opposing teams] I know those boos were really cheers. I have a lot of fans here. Winning here is the best place to win.”
