Wolves Updates 1/30 Part 2

Kevin McHale on whether Randy Foye would be assigned to the team’s D-League affiliate:
Probably not just because he’s going to be on short minutes. Chris has
no restrictions. With our medical staff there monitoring him very, very
closely, I think everybody would feel a little safer with Randy a
little closer to home. If he had a different type of surgery and he had
no limitations coming back, it might be different. I think it’s a great
thing for players.

No. They put me through a lot of conditioning workouts leading up to
this. I felt great. The only thing is that I felt like I was a step
behind. I’ve been practicing a lot, practice is nothing like the game.
It’s going to take a while. I’m not expecting to come out and score 50
points or shut someone down from scoring. I’m going to try to take it
one day at a time. They’re monitoring my minutes, so whatever time they
give me I’m going to play as hard as I can while I’m out there.

What the Timberwolves need at the moment are veterans who can teach
them how to eke out a couple of wins or, at the very least, how to lose
more competitively. It’s not as if they’re Timberpups; Minnesota’s
average age is 26.6, and a third of the league’s teams are younger than
that. But Garnett, back in the day, had Sam Mitchell and Terry Porter,
both coaches now, to tutor him on practicing hard each day, dressing
like a grown-up and handling the media.

Who does Jefferson have? He has Antoine Walker…

Stephen Litel/Hoopsworld with a midseason report of the team.

Here’s how short-handed the Bulls are: Viktor Khryapa played first-half minutes.
Here’s how bad the Timberwolves are: They lost badly while Khryapa played first-half minutes.
