Kahn repeatedly has said he will not trade one of the core pieces to the team’s rebuilding project this season and Tuesday evening again said if the team does anything, it will be what he calls “modest in nature.”

Kahn said he would know better by Wednesday night’s game at Washington. Thursday’s deadline is 2 p.m. Twin Cities time. He indicated he has no interest in a reported Tyrus Thomas-Luol Deng for Jefferson trade proposal with the Bulls apparently made some time ago.
