Actually he’s talking about on Sam Mitchell appreciation night, the Wolves handed out posters of Mitchell wearing a “Woves” jersey. This was also reading to succeed night. So they put out 5,000 posters of Sam Mitchell wearing a jersey that is spelled wrong. Ha ha ha.
It looks as if Mike Miller now has a Twitter account (along with Mark Madsen, Randy Foye, and Brian Cardinal)
Bobby Brown, Kevin Ollie, Brian Cardinal, Craig Smith and Rodney Carney indeed will start tonight in Philadelphia instead of Randy Foye, Sebastian Telfair, Ryan Gomes, Kevin Love and Mike Miller.

Asked if this doesn’t appear like he’s playing to improve the team’s lottery chances, Kevin McHale said, “No, those guys (the second unit) earned it. I tell you what, I’d say the we’ve played with the other guys, that looks like a lottery to me, holy cow. I’d be a lot more concerned that we’re playing for the lottery if I was playing those continually. These guys derserve to go out there and play. They’ve brought energy. They’ve moved the ball better. They’ve played well together. The ball hasn’t been sticking. They’ve brought a lot of stuff.”
With that in mind, the Randy Foye Foundation was born. Established in the fall of 2007, the initiative’s primary focus looks to impact the lives of Newark’s inner-city kids through special programs and projects funded almost exclusively by fundraising and donations.
“I got home shortly after I got drafted and there were a lot of kids that I saw playing in clothes and with gear that was terrible,” Foye said. “I knew I wanted to help out and this was one way I knew I could.”
Jonah Ballow/Timberwolves site talks to CNBC sports business reporter Darren Rovell about the team’s new ticket plan:
“It’s definitely a competitive environment; it’s definitely a tough time. You just have to be as creative as possible, so I give the Timberwolves a lot of credit for doing this but at the same time people have to realize there is pressure on them to do these things, especially when it’s shifting over to the blue-collar fan again.”
“It’s really back to the fans. On the good side of this, 2009 is going to be the year of the fan. It’s never going to be any better to go to a game and see the best values. Teams like the Timberwolves are going to care about the fans more than ever before.”
With a victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night, the Rockets leapfrogged them for No. 2 seeding in the West. That position could be slippery because only four games separated the Rockets from the eighth-place Dallas Mavericks going into Tuesday night’s games. Crammed between the Rockets and the Mavericks were the Spurs, the Denver Nuggets, the New Orleans Hornets, the Utah Jazz and the Portland Trail Blazers.
It is a different type of March Madness. The Los Angeles Lakers (56-14) are perched above with a safety net and the No. 1 seeding nearly clinched.
“Two through eight, you can shake ’em up, put them in a hat,” said Minnesota Timberwolves Coach Kevin McHale, adding: “But no one wants to be eight, I can tell you that right now.”
