Wolves Updates 3/4

Walker is due to be paid $9,320,500 next season, the last year on his
deal. He wouldn’t say how much the team had asked him to forgo in order
to get a buyout done.
“It wasn’t even reasonable,” he said. “It was way off the charts. It
was ridiculous, actually. … They wanted a lot off my contract next
year. I’m not in a position to do that. I wouldn’t do that.”
Walker said he is no longer pursuing a buyout, as he wouldn’t be able
to join another team and be on a playoff roster now…
Richard spent six games in the development league
before being recalled when the NBA all-star break ended last month. He
said he has played with much more confidence in four games since
returning to the Wolves, who play host to Charlotte tonight.
Also from Alonzo:
Rookie Corey Brewer is a game-time decision today
after suffering a right thigh bruise Sunday. Brewer sat out of practice
Monday and could barely walk, Wittman said.
Veteran Marko Jaric practiced in a limited role.
Jaric, who did not play Sunday, also is a game-time decision with a
knee injury.

It’s only money: Theo Ratliff’s nearly $4 million
buyout, when added to contract buyouts of Troy Hudson and Juwan Howard,
brings the Timberwolves’ buyout total this season to nearly $24 million.
