This week’s NBA draft combine in Chicago is a class reunion of sorts for Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn, who is back in the league for the first time since leaving the Indiana Pacers in 2004.
Kahn, who was hired last Friday, said he received a warm welcome from league officials today when he attended a competition committee hearing and that there was a surprisingly large number of familiar faces.
Kahn, who was hired last Friday, said he received a warm welcome from league officials today when he attended a competition committee hearing and that there was a surprisingly large number of familiar faces.
“Much has changed, but a lot of teams are still the same,” Kahn said. “It’s very comfortable and it’s not like I’ve been completely out of the loop for the last few years with my involvement in the D-league. So it’s not strictly an old home week for me.”
Jonathan Givony/DraftExpress on the NBA combine in Chicago:
James Harden for example has elected not to conduct any interviews with teams drafting outside the top five, canceling a scheduled interview at the Westin Hotel with the Cleveland Cavaliers for example. He also reportedly will not be conducting any competitive workouts with anyone anywhere in the draft process. A source close to him tells us he feels very good about the possibility of being selected by Oklahoma City or Washington, and for right now is not planning on visiting the Minnesota Timberwolves…
Curry is getting love from teams as high up as Washington and also has a chance to be drafted 6th (Minnesota) or 7th (Golden State).
