The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they will continue to serve as the NBA Development League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Charlotte Bobcats for the 2008-09 season. The affiliation system allows the Timberwolves and Bobcats to assign players in their first or second season to Sioux Falls.
Sioux Falls has been affiliated with the Minnesota Timberwolves the last two seasons. While Minnesota did not assign anyone to the Skyforce during the 2006-07 season, this past season, Chris Richard, a 6-9, 270-pound rookie forward, became the first Timberwolves player ever assigned to the Skyforce and averaged 10.2 points and 11.5 rebounds in six games.
