Wolves Updates 8/10 Part 2

From El Mundo Deportivo (link and translation via HoopsHype):
Ricky Rubio: “I’m tired of this situation, although now I’m taking it easy. I try not to let it affect me too much. I thought it would settled before coming to play with the National Team but every day new things come out… Everything is all messed up. There have been many misunderstandings and half truths … Now that I’ve entered the world of adults, I realize that not everything goes smooth.”
On his relationship with DKV Joventut president Jordi Villacampa: “The two of us we have been wrong on some things. I’ve never wanted to hurt Joventut. I would like to explain the whole situation some day if I stay with Joventut. Villacampa has said things to me that have nothing to do with what he said before I went to the United States. Bad blood? Never. Penya is the club of my life, but I can’t do any more. Now everything depends on them.”

Yes, he should be looked at with a wary eye for his 24-13 run as Laker interim coach during the 1999 season. I’ve seen a lot of bad head coaches in my day, but few if any have looked more overmatched than Rambis in that truncated season.

And, yes, he could be the next great NBA head coach. It is more than possible that the Minnesota Timberwolves hired themselves an absolute coaching stud in Rambis. And that’s not even getting into a comparison between Rambo and who was apparently Minnesota’s second choice.

It’s OK to have it both ways. Because people can change, grow, and get better at what they do.
“Sorry I didn’t break the news on this one people,” Love tweeted this morning, “(David) Kahn would not let it happen.”

The Wolves forward had broken the news on his Twitter account of Kevin McHale not being retained as Wolves coach.

“But I do like the hire,” Love said. “(Mark) Jackson was a great dude who will have a job in the future … but Rambis, Coach Rambis will do us well.”

From Wendell Maxey/Hoopsworld: Rebuilding The Wolves
If the NBA gave out an award for “Best Offseason Executive”, you’d be hard pressed not to include Minnesota Timberwolves
President David Kahn in that discussion.

Maybe he even takes home the hardware.
