First of all, before going off on a rant I’ve had in my system for a couple weeks, what’s it really matter what Johnson says? I mean, come on. There have been just three 14-0 teams in history, and New England didn’t finish perfect because of a rather improbable comeback by the New York Giants in the Super Bowl. The Patriots were that close to winning it all and finishing 19-0. It took an incredible pass play to knock them off. Eli Manning was all but sacked. David Tyree, who hasn’t done much in his career since, came down with a unbelievable catch on his helmet. Much to the delight of many, not just Colts fans, the Patriots were denied in their quest for history. So if the Colts ran the table and won out, the suggestion is that those Patriots were better than these Colts? OK, fine, make your argument, but one team would have rings and the other wouldn’t. And I don’t hear anybody saying those Giants were the greatest team in history, or even mentioned with the 1972 Miami Dolphins, so how much sense does this make?
