Atlanta Falcons : WR Julio Jones Has Season-Ending Foot Surgery, Out For Season

Parker Kings

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, who suffered a foot injury in the 30-27 loss to the New York Jets, underwent season-ending surgery and is done for the year. His recovery could take 12-16 weeks.

Jones recorded eight receptions for 99 yards.

Matt Ryan will likely rely on Tony Gonzalez for at least the next few weeks. Roddy White and Steven Jackson are also out with injuries.

The Falcons offense has taken many hits and the team’s scoring production is expected to decrease. The Falcons had one of the best offenses in the league with Ryan, Stephen Jackson, Jones, Roddy White, and Gonzalez. Atlanta’s offense is sixth overall in the NFL, 25th in rushing with 78.4 yards per game, the pass offense ranks 3rd in the league with 313 yards per game.

With Jones now out, it will be interesting to see how they perform with only two of their main offensive weapons.
