It may have been a few weeks since the No. 22 Wisconsin wrestling team last saw dual meet action, but they didn’t miss a beat in their return to the mat.
The Badgers (6-2, 3-0 Big Ten) upset No.11 Michigan 19-16 in a Big Ten dual meet at the UW Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon.
Sean Boyle picked up a win by major decision at 125 pounds to put the Wolverines up 4-0 after the first match of the afternoon.
No. 3 Tyler Graff made his dual meet debut at 133 pounds and picked up a major decision of his own to knot the team score at 4-4. It was the only bout of the afternoon where UW picked up extra points.
A win from Tom Kelliher at 141 gave the Badgers their first lead of the afternoon at 7-4.
No. 12 Eric Grajales scored Michigan’s second major decision of the match with a 14-6 win over Cole Schmitt to help the Wolverines regain a lead in the team score 8-7.

The seesaw battle continued as Kalvin York downed Collin Zeerip 9-7 at 157 pounds.
Michigan strung together back-to-back wins at 165 and 174 to assume a 16-10 lead, its largest of the match.
But, down six points with three matches remaining, Wisconsin had an emphatic answer.
Scott Liegel got things rolling with a 2-1 win, in sudden victory, over Chris Heald at 184.
The drama continued at 197 when Jackson Hein scored a 2-1 upset win over No. 18 Max Huntley to tie the score at 16-a-piece.
With the outcome of the match hanging in the balance, Connor Medbery delivered with a 6-2 win at heavyweight to clinch the win for UW.
Both Hein (8-0) and Medbery (7-0) maintained their perfect dual meet records.
Wisconsin will face its toughest dual meet test to-date when they travel to Happy Valley to take on No. 1 Penn State on Friday. The match begins at 6 p.m.
