WSU Gameday Flag-Spotting, Week Eight of 2010

WSU Gameday Flag-Spotting, Week Eight of 2010

Happy Gameday Saturday to you, Cougs, and yes, another strong showing on ESPN Gameday.  Crimson and Whitey are doing their thing, so once again, fantastic job to those “on the ground”, fighting the good fight for all things Crimson-n-Gray!

And thanks to Will Walker for providing some good screencaps of the moment.  Whitey is front-and-center, while Crimson is to the far-left, by Desmond Howard’s mug.

WSU Gameday Flag-Spotting, Week Eight of 2010

And you’ll probably notice this week, but starting to see more schools represented?  I saw TCU, Wisconsin, and even Saint Louis with a flag (since Gameday is in Columbia, Missouri, that one makes sense?).  I think I’ve seen more of that TCU flag though, so they are starting to get it together with the whole Gameday flag deal.  Anyway, great job Cougs!  If you are scoring at home, the count of Gameday shows and the WSU flag is now at 98 in a row!?!?!  That’s HUUUUUGGGEE.

Meanwhile, a little confusion on the broadcast of the game today, so hopefully this helps.  It’s on Fox College Sports Pacific, and you can see the listing here.  In my neck of the woods, it looks like Comcast channel 415 (Mill Creek, WA is my location).  Hopefully you can check it out.  If you can’t?  We’ll have highlights for you tomorrow, in the afternoon most likely.  I believe FCSP is considered a premium channel, so if you don’t have it you may have to scout around the web to see if anyone is streaming it.  I checked Channelsurfing.net today, and while there are many games listed, I didn’t see the WSU-Stanford game among them.  You could also try Justin.TV, as they had the Oregon – WSU game a few weeks ago.  Good luck!

Any new thoughts on the game today?  I wish I was more optimistic, but this one to me anyway feels like, well, we’re going to get run over.  On the road, against a very good, rested Stanford team, and we’re beat up?  OH, and the weather sounds iffy, as in we can expect some rain, playing on grass down there?  Not a good recipe for success when you have the worst running game in the Pac-10, and up against a tough, physical Stanford defense.  It doesn’t have a good feel.  I hope I’m wrong (as I always hope when I think we’ll lose!), but this could be a tough one on the eyes.

As usual, Grippi has your back for all links-and-such on Gameday

We’ll be back later, after the game, so you can weigh in and overreact.  We’re fans, it’s what we do.  Anyway, GO COUGS!
