Earlier in the week calls were made to the BSU athletic dept. to find out if flagpoles would be allowed inside bronco stadium. In my 7 years of dealing with shows across the nation, flagpoles have never been allowed inside a particular stadium, anywhere, so it was a concern this week. My sister was assured that flagpoles would be allowed.
When the Coug contingent arrived at the gate this morning at 5AM and the gates opened at 5:30 well… flagpoles were not allowed afterall, and the gate security guy was not very nice about it.
When our crew entered the stadium the ESPN crew asked where our flagpoles were. My sister explained the situation and the ESPN crew said “we’ll take care of it”.
The WSU flags will be the only flags flying at the start of the show this morning.
I love it!
Nice work for those on the ground, as Crimson & Whitey are once again fighting the good fight, even in some less-than-ideal circumstances.
Even better, Fowler mentioned the seven-year tradition of the WSU flags, and acknowledged Tom Pounds and the group who makes it happen every week! Nice work. By the way, if you missed it yesterday we posted a video from the weekly FSN show. Included in that video was a segment about Tom Pounds and the whole flags tradition. Check out the video here:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEBwwu7cCsg&w=425&h=348]Great work Tom, and to all of you who keep it rolling. No matter how things are going with the rebuilding process, it’s inspiring to see those flags every Saturday!
Some other stuff out there today:
Grippi has all the links and such. Check it out here.
Meanwhile, Jim Moore asked us to mention his appearance in Auburn, so, here’s the details:
I’ll be at Performance Grill in Auburn (1525 A Street NE) tomorrow at noon for the game.
As you probably know, Jim isn’t the biggest self-promoter on the planet, but we’re happy to help out if we’re asked. So there you go.
Finally…..there are some whispers out there that we MIGHT see a new wrinkle on the field today, and specifically with the offense. We can neither confirm nor deny anything, and we don’t want to ruin the element of surprise. But don’t be surprised if there is something new out there today.
We’ll be back later this afternoon/evening with a post-game overreaction. Enjoy yourself today, and as always, GO COUGS!
