Most Underrated: Apollo Crews
Apollo Crews made his NXT debut on his 28th birthday, defeating Tye Dillinger at the 2015 NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn event. His popularity from the independent circuit as Uhaa Nation propelled him in the rankings in NXT, and it appeared as if he was en route to becoming a top competitor. However, a loss to Samoa Joe, as well as the inability to win on the big stages against names such as Baron Corbin, and Finn Balor, cooled his momentum.
His main roster debut on the Raw after WrestleMania 32 was grossly premature. Along with not having enough time to groom himself in NXT, there was no announcement to hype his debut. While the element of surprise is still an important factor in pro wrestling, the small fraction of NXT faithfuls compared to the weekly main roster viewership gave Crews an unfair deficit, and he has not been able to recover ever since.
