Best Heel: Tommaso Ciampa

When Tommaso Ciampa turned on his DIY tag team partner Johnny Gargano at the conclusion on the 2017 NXT TakeOver: Chicago event, many fans were left stunned at what just happened. Unfortunately for Ciampa, he could not capitalize on the turn due to being injured during the match, forcing him to take several months off. Eight months later, Ciampa picked back up where he left off, attacking Gargano at the NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia event.

What made Ciampa’s heel run so good is that he is one of the only people on the WWE roster who actually has the feel of an old-school heel, garnering some of the biggest heat in the entire company by eliciting jeers and staying true to his villainous ways. Along with this, he was opposed against some of the biggest fan favorites in NXT throughout the year: Johnny Gargano, Aleister Black, and The Velveteen Dream.
