WATCH: WWE Releases Exclusive First Look At John Cena’s New Movie ‘Bumblebee’

WWE star John Cena, who is set to return to the ring at the upcoming Raw live event taking place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on December 26th, is also gearing up for the release of his new Transformers spinoff movie, Bumblebee.

The movie stars John Cena in his first role as a villain, and co-stars Hailee Steinfeld and Justin Theroux. Below is the official movie synopsis, according to IMDB.

On the run in the year of 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie, on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken.

WWE has released a new, exclusive look at Bumblebee, which features more footage of John Cena in-action in the new sci-fi action-adventure flick, and you can check it out in the video player below.

The new clip also features comments from John Cena, in which he discusses playing Agent Burns in the film, the head of Sector 7, which Cena says is “responsible for all the things the masses don’t know about.”

In other John Cena news, the former WWE Champion was the recipient of this year’s Muhammad Ali Legacy Award for Excellence, and Cena Tweeted the following after receiving the award this week in Los Angeles.

“Tonight was for “us.” The privilege we have to entertain fans young and old has opened to the possibilities of what can be accomplished in and out of the ring. Thank you for this amazing honor and for presenting tonight. Now…back to work!”

As noted, John Cena will be making his WWE in-ring return at the upcoming holiday live event tour which see Cena make appearances at both Raw and Smackdown live events at MSG, in Long Island, New York and more. As of this writing, no opponents or matches have been announced for Cena, however, WWE is advertising him for several events, which could foreshadow Cena’s eventual return to WWE TV as WrestleMania season approaches.
