The 2019 New Japan Pro Wrestling Wrestle Kingdom 13 event is officially in the books, and the future of Kenny Omega might have become a bit clearer following his main event title match.

Omega lost his NJPW IWGP Heavyweight Title to Hiroshi Tanahashi, during a Wrestle Kingdom event which saw an astounding eight title changes, including Cody Rhodes losing his IWGP United States Title to Juice Robinson.

Below is an excerpt from PWExclusive.com’s coverage of the Wrestle Kingdom 13 main event.

What a main event match. Kenny Omega and Hiroshi Tanahashi left everything in the ring. The beginning of the match was a little strange because it seemed Omega was toying with Tanahashi, almost like Tanahashi wasn’t in Omega’s league. Omega was in control the majority of the match, and boy did Tanahashi take a beating. At one point during the match Tanahashi went crashing through a table when he missed a top rope Frog Splash from the top rope down to the floor.

As many others tonight this could be Omega’s last match with New Japan. In many ways Wrestle Kingdom 13 is the end of one era and the beginning of the next chapter in the company’s history. If this was indeed Omega’s last amtch with New Japan, it was a hell of way to go out.

On the heels of Omega losing his Title to Tanahashi, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com is reporting WWE has made a “fantastic” offer to Kenny Omega as Omega’s contract with NJPW is set to expire at the end of the month.

Meltzer did not confirm whether or not Omega has accepted the offer from WWE, but if he does, he will be parting ways with his Elite brethren Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Hangman Page, as they embark on their new All Elite Wrestling promotion.

With both WWE and AEW currently attempting to lock down talents as the new year kicks off, it will be very interesting to see where Omega, one of pro wrestling’s most sought after names, will end up in 2019.
