We all know about some particular baseball players and their love for professional wrestling.
As it turns out, the admiration society goes both ways.
Long before Daniel Bryan challenged Josh Reddick to a “Beard Off” (and long before the Oakland A’s outfielder channeled the Ultimate Warrior on television), the WWE Superstar was quite the baseball card collector.
And he had good taste too.
“I ended up collecting a lot of players who were good but not necessarily stars,” Bryan, a Washington native, says in his new book, YES! My Improbable Journey to the Main Event of WrestleMania. “In baseball, instead of liking Ken Griffey Jr. — who was on the Seattle Mariners and whose cards were always worth a lot — I liked Roberto Alomar and Paul Molitor.”
Not too shabby.
