Hello DOY readers!
We were chatting with one of our favorite writers/bloggers on Twitter today, one Mr. Ryan Lambert.
When he's not writing awesome posts on Puck Daddy, he's doing his best to give back and help under privileged kids get the academic help they need and DESERVE.
"826 Boston is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success. With this understanding in mind, we provide drop-in tutoring, field trips, after-school workshops, in-schools tutoring, help for English language learners, and assistance with student publications.
All of our free programs seek to strengthen each student's power to express ideas effectively, creatively, confidently, and in his or her individual voice."
What are we asking of you? Just a few dollars. Skip a Starbucks run today or buy a beer at a bar pre-game instead of at the Bruins game and give the extra $30 you'd save to help a great cause. Literally any amount helps! Here's Ryan saying it a lot better than we can:
