Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

If it were charted on a graph, Jeff Green’s offensive flow would be a wild succession of peaks and valleys.

Such was the nature of the Celtics forward’s performance during the 116-92 loss to the Knicks last night. He started with an eight-point, 3-for-7 first half, erupted with a 17-point, 6-for-9 third quarter, and finished with a two-point, 1-for-5 fourth to post 27 points, two rebounds and zero assists.

But Brad Stevens has consistently stood behind Green’s undulations.

“I think there’s a lot of guys that aren’t going to score 27 a night that have capability, that have that ability to do so on a given night,” said the C’s coach. “I think that that’s not unique to the league.

“I think the league is full of guys like that. I think that’s really what separates the Carmelo (Anthonys) of the world and the (KevinDurants and the LeBron (James) is they can do it every, every single night. But that’s not a knock on Jeff, that’s a compliment to those other guys and I think he’s been playing pretty well.”

Just another example of Jeff Green being Jeff Green. He’s not changing, just like your girlfriend/wife isn’t changing. No matter how many times you ask her to do that to you, she ain’t gonna do it.

On Page 2, Rajon Rondo quietly doing Captain things.

What an asshole. How dare he hold those youngsters back from hitting the town. Doesn’t Rondo know that bars close early in Boston?

I love John’s take:
