Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
And nobody seemed to relish this fiesty, bad-boy side of Green more than Kevin Garnett.
“Jeff’s a really, really nice guy,” Garnett said. “Some nights, you just gotta be an asshole.”
And the turning point for Green seemed to be an attempted dunk early in the fourth quarter in which he was fouled on the play.
“After the dunk he was aggressive; he was greedy Jeff,” said a visibly excited Garnett.
Not only was the 12 points scored by Green a season-high, but it came on a night in which he played with the greatest amount of aggression we’ve seen from him this season.
Thank-freaking-god.
After watching his disturbingly depressed demeanor following Friday night’s loss to Philly, I was seriously concerned about Jeff Green’s mental state.
Well, he found his groove, at least for one night. The timing was perfect, as Rajon Rondo and Brandon Bass both had sub par scoring nights.
Random observation: Why does Comcast bleep “asshole” from the video interview, but use the word in copy? Seems like an odd editorial decision.
Doc Rivers continues to shake up the rotations. Last night, Jason Terry and Brandon Bass played the role of “starters.” Courtney Lee logged six more minutes (28 – 22) than JET. I wish Doc would just start Bass and Lee (until Avery Bradley returns) and leave it alone.
Paul Pierce had 9 rebounds last night. It seems like whenever the Truth nears double-digits in boards, the Celtics win. I posed the question on Twitter and StatsAdam said the Celtics are 50-19 in new Big 3 era when Pierce gets 8+ rebounds.
