Your Morning Dump..Stay strong Boston

Your Morning Dump..Stay strong BostonGood Morning folks. I’m preparing to head in to my job at a Boston hospital this morning. I’m hoping I can comfort and help what will surely be a mass of worried, concerned, sad & angry people. Thankfully, neither myself or any of my family were injured in yesterday’s bombing at the Boston Marathon. Just typing those words, it still hasn’t fully sunken in. I guess it’s true that you  really just don’t know how things like this feel until it happens in your own “back yard”. I was initially very concerned for my sister, as she lives quite close to the finish line area, and is also an avid runner & triathlete. I was certain she was in the area, watching the race. Once I found out she was actually out of town for the day, I was extremely relieved. Not a feeling I wish on anyone. Thank goodness she was alright.

I simply cannot think about much else right now, and just want to say that my thoughts and prayers are with those who lost loved ones to this cowardly act and I have the utmost faith that the talented men & women of Boston’s hospitals will do everything in their power and then some to ensure that those who were injured get top notch care. Thankfully, we have the best of the best when it comes to medical staff here in our city.

I will probably have a lot more to say about this, but for now, stay strong Boston. Take time today to be grateful for your loved ones, family, friends and colleagues. Help someone in any way that you can. Try and smile when faced with fear & despair, as hard as it may be. We will get through this and we will be stronger because of it. Thank you everyone.
