Every
morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here…
highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as
satisfying as a good morning dump.
"We needed to get off to a good start
and that's what we talked about before the game began," Boston coach
Doc Rivers said. "With a tough back-to-back coming and we're down on
bodies, a team that's been struggling, our whole thought was if we can
get off to a good start maybe we could get other guys rest. It all came
on the defensive end first and then the ball movement in the first half
was as good as we can get."
CSNNE – Celtics Soar Over Nets
Paul Pierce (24 points) sustained a
knee bruise but continued to play. The other Celtics, led by Rondo (11
points, 14 assists), appeared to survive unscathed.
“We’ve
been on the other side of the spectrum,’’ Ray Allen said. “You go up
big and then you get a lead against a team that is struggling a little
bit. And then it’s the ballgame. We’ve been there before.’’
No one played more than 29 minutes last night. My favorite part of the box score – the 25 minutes played by Ray Allen.
Prior to last night's 28 minutes of work, Paul Pierce has played 43, 41, 34, and 42 minutes since his return from a knee infection. Let's hope it pays dividends in tonight's game against the Bulls.
On the injury front, I could not find any updates on Glen Davis' thumb. He took a whack on it last night, but I'm assuming it's nothing serious.
On Page 2, Bill Walker's vicious throwdown on Josh Boone.
Oh my…. Where have you been Bill Walker and what did you do to piss off Doc Rivers? Seriously, that dunk proves Billy is physically healthy to play. Let's hope we see a bit more of him.
