It’s been good, it’s been bad, it’s been good… I was so scared coming out of surgery because I didn’t know what to expect, every time something happened or I felt some discomfort I called Jeff [Green] like ‘when this happened, what did you do?’ He was kind of my main man letting me know what to expect and what to do.

Very interesting interview with Wilcox. He says he’s trying to raise awareness about heart conditions like his that was only caught because he went for regular check ups.
Wilcox is very fortunate that he’s a pro athlete. Chances are pretty good that this never would have been caught otherwise. And while this cost him most of a season, it’s given him a gift of awareness and appreciation for the little things that didn’t exist before.
It’s nice to see that Jeff Green supported him through all of this. The odds of these two guys missing time together for the same type of ailment while playing for the same team are crazy. So Wilcox having a teammate to lean on is huge.
One thing about Green and Wilcox that I want to say. They have both visited some of the greatest cardiologists in the world. These are people who know every intricacy of the human heart… they’ve held hearts in their hands!…. they fix hearts for a living and do it better than anyone…
If those people say Jeff Green and Chris Wilcox are healthy and can play basketball, then I’m pretty confident these guys are healthy and can play basketball. And I know a lot of you are saying “well, I don’t know, man. That still a heart problem” … But I’m sure that argument doesn’t make you a cardiologist, much less one of the best at it in the world.
These aren’t just team doctors… these are Cleveland Clinic doctors… they have a reputation to uphold. They don’t need guys dropping dead on the court. My point is… the experts say they’re good. So I trust that they’re good.
I’m glad Wilcox and Green are back doing the jobs they love. Good for them.
