Your Morning Dump... Where Courtney Lee has a mild ankle sprainEvery morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

“An initial sprain is always the biggest zing right there when it happens,” Lee said after the Celtics’ 104-94 loss to Dallas. “But hopefully it’s just swelled up a little bit.

“I’ll get some medicine and some ice, and hopefully then it will go down and I’ll be ready to go (tonight). I’ve sprained my ankle a couple of times before and right away is when it’s hurt the most. But once it calmed down I was able to put pressure on it and walk off the court.”

Lee turned his ankle while attempting to pressure a Mike Jamesinbounds pass with 1:51 left. He landed on James’ foot, collapsed, and was unable to get back to his feet as first Vince Carter missed,Brandan Wright grabbed the offensive rebound, and O.J. Mayorewarded the effort with a game-sealing 3-pointer.

Lee, who had to be helped off the floor, lay helplessly on the ground the entire time.

“I was just hoping he was all right,” said Paul Pierce. “We’ve had so many injuries this year. But I saw him back in the locker room, and it didn’t seem as bad as it did on the court.”

Herald – Lee better after sprain

I think every Celtics fan had the same reaction upon seeing Lee helped off the floor – “Not again?”

The silver lining in last night’s loss is the diagnosis of a mild ankle sprain. I’ll be surprised to see him play tonight vs Memphis.

CSNNE played these comments from Jason Terry about Lee’s injury (:55):

I’m in agreement with Gary Tanguay. I don’t think Terry was being critical of Lee’s toughness. I think he was being honest about his initial reaction to seeing Lee go down. But I’m sure the Felgers of the world will misinterpret these comments.

As for Terry’s play, the highpoint of his night was the standing ovation the Dallas crowd gave him upon entering the game. He delivered a mediocre stat line of 8 points on 3-9 FG.
