Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
The Celtics will be a little closer to being whole as a team with Courtney Lee expected to be available for Tuesday’s game against Milwaukee. Lee has missed the Celtics’ last two games while recovering from a left knee injury suffered at Charlotte on Nov. 25.
A. Sherrod Blakely-Lee (Knee) Likely To Return Tuesday vs Bucks
Before injuring his knee against the Bobcats on 11/25, Courtney Lee was playing some great basketball. Lee seemed to finally be comfortable, and was fitting it quite nicely to new coach Brad Stevens’ system. Courtney was averaging 7.6 PPG in 17.9 minutes per game prior to going down. Lee has been fantastic in short spurts-shooting 51% from the floor and 48% from three. Whether Danny Ainge intends on shopping Lee for a future trade, or keeping him on the roster, his play so far this season has been a major positive. Lee hopes to return to action tonight when the Celtics try to avenge Saturday night’s loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
“I’m feeling good,” said Lee who added that his injury was more of a “tissue” issue. “A lot better than I have these last couple of days.”
Boston can certainly use all the help they can get against the Bucks, as they’ve had the Celtics’ number this season. They beat Boston on their home floor on Opening Night, and again this past weekend. That’s got to be particularly frustrating for the C’s, when you consider that the Bucks have only won three games all year. OJ Mayo dropped 22 on the Celtics on Saturday night, and the Celts struggled beyond the arc, shooting just 4 of 19 from downtown. Lee should be able to help on both of those fronts.

What a Monday night in the NBA. You had a triple-overtime thriller in Chicago, Tim Duncan coming through in the clutch for the Spurs and a heavyweight battle between the Blazers & Pacers.
Despite Paul George’s career-high 43 points, Damian Lillard and the Blazers are now 15-3 after a 106-102 win over the Pacers. Tim Duncan’s elbow jumper with 0.4 seconds left in the game helped the Spurs beat the Hawks 102-100. And in the craziest game of the night, Ryan Anderson’s 36 points, including 7 threes, gave the Pelicans a 131-128 triple OT win over the Bulls in Chicago.
