Your Morning Dump… Where Danny’s crazy enough to do just about anything!

Orlando Magic v Boston Celtics, Game 6

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big story line. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Mannix did say he believes Jimmy Butler could be available for the right price, but cautioned stars won’t come cheap.

“If Boston does want to get in the mix for one of the premier players that could be available on the trade market, there is going to be a very rich price,” Mannix said. “It’s going to be that No. 3 overall pick plus a couple of extra players that are going to make it unpalatable for the Celtics to want to swallow that type of deal.”

“I think they’ve got enough. It just depends on how much you want to give,” Mannix added. “Do you want to give up this first-round pick plus next year’s swap rights with the Brooklyn pick? How much is too much blood to give up to get a potential franchise player? That’s the decision Danny Ainge has to make but man, it’s going to be a lot of fun watching him operate this summer.”

So what’s going to happen? Are the Celtics going to draft Bender? Dunn? Hield? Trade the pick? Trade more picks? Use all their picks and start a whole other D-League team?

This is about as crazy a collection of picks, players and cap space as the league has ever seen. Anybody, anybody, who is telling you right now, while they’re still playing basketball and meaning it in both Cleveland and the civilized world, that they know what the Celtics should do is talking through their hat. If you don’t know what players are available for trade, then you don’t know which picks the Celtics should keep. If you don’t know how these players look against high caliber competition, then you don’t know if any player is a reach or a steal at any given pick.

Page 2: Where IT wants to play until he’s 40.

I want to change my diet, eat the right way, eat more healthy to prolong my career. I want to try to play until I’m 40. That’s my goal. That’s the biggest thing for me, to take care of my body and transform my body into something that eats right and puts the best things inside my body because I know I need my body. I hit the ground a lot, man, and my body is hurting.

Good for Isaiah. I’ll freely admit, I was happier with Isaiah in a sixth man role, because I have real questions about how long he can play, being both as physical and as short as he is. If he wants to play until he’s 40, he needs to work on his old-man game, as well as his diet and exercise.

IT certainly seems bent on using his best years to improve his game. He picked up a couple moves over the past summer that paid dividends during the regular season and playoffs, as Forsberg points out in the article.

Also: Rondo’s still pretty good at Connect 4.
