Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“He’s a pro. He’s been in the league for so long that nothing rattles him,” Rivers said of Terry. “I think he would still rather come off the bench, but he wants to do what we need. He never asks questions, he just does it. He’s a pro’s pro. There’s a lot of veterans like that.
“What is unusual is that he can start on most teams, but he’s figured it out. He just wants to win. He’s figured that’s how he brings the most value, by giving the second unit firepower. But right now we need him in the (starting) lineup.”
Herald: Jason Terry is a team builder
Terry did a nice thing after the Milwaukee game and took a lot of the heat for the loss. While it wasn’t entirely his fault, it was a solid veteran move to accept it all and take the heat off some other guys.
Terry will still have some ups and down as he plays a role he’s not entirely comfortable with. The beauty of it all for Doc is that he accepts what the team asks him to do. It’s a good example to set for the rest of the guys who may be struggling to find their games in.
Everything is going to change when Avery Bradley returns, which could be soon (scroll down to the end of that link). Then JET will go back to the bench and we’ll start to see a more regular lineup. Until then, Terry will continue to do whatever Doc asks of him… which is probably why Doc gushes
“Every coach should coach Jason Terry at least once,” Rivers said after the Celtics’ 91-88 loss in Milwaukee on Saturday night. “He’s the perfect kid with a perfect heart.”
