Give Thomas credit for having some social media fun with the impending recruitment process. The Celtics, with cap space and tradable assets, are hopeful to add the sort of impact talent this offseason that can help them take the next step in the quest to return to legitimate contender status.

Thank you Isaiah Thomas for keeping things light and fun amidst the drudgery of the offseason… which hasn’t really even begun yet.
So far Isaiah has sent out tweets that not-so-subtly refer to LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, and Marc Gasol. Once July comes around, we’ll see Isaiah really get into the recruiting process with his NBA brethren and maybe convince one of these guys to take a listen to what Danny Ainge is selling.
Of course, the better recruiter is Benjamin Franklin. He and a few hundred thousand of his friends can make a really convincing argument. But it’s nice if Isaiah can say some nice things about Brad Stevens, the organization, and the City.
We’re two and a half weeks away from Danny Ainge being able to pick up the phone and start calling these guys. Or maybe he goes to Marc Gasol’s place at midnight with a dozen roses and a bottle of wine. I dunno how that really works, exactly. But that’s when he’ll be able to do something.
