Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big story line. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
Hunter averaged 10.2 points this summer, along with 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists. Even more significant was that he shot 47.2 percent on 3s.
Now that’s unlikely to hold up in the regular season, but it’s a good sign for a guy who knows he has to make shots in order to maximize his value to this team.
No matter how well he performs when it comes to intangibles such as screening, making the extra pass on offense or deflections, Hunter has to make shots or at least shoot better than the 30.2 percent he connected on 3s last season.
I, for one, hadn’t realized how well Hunter shot the ball during Summer League. Like quite a few people, I was more caught up in the lack of playing time and the injury. Even with the usual summer league disclaimers, that’s a decent shooting percentage from three. It’s worth noting that Hunter shot a meager 33.3% from three during last year’s Summer League, which tracked pretty close to his in-season average of 30%.
Sherrod Blakely’s floor for Hunter is pretty grim:

Yes. The page two ‘news’ on this morning’s dump is a calendar. Come on, people. Go out and decorate a fence to look like a Celtics player, or find footage of a Celtics player making a bunch of shots–or missing a shot in front of small children. Something!
