Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“I just think he’s more aggressive, obviously,” Rivers said. “He’s comfortable in his game. He understands how to score, how he can score through our offense. The other part is he’s happy. The guys like him, he likes them, he’s comfortable here now. I think last year, even though he didn’t play, probably did a world of good. Just being around the guys and they accepted him and I think all that helped him.”
WEEI: Doc: Green “stood out more than anybody”
“Jeff’s a lot more aggressive than I can remember, man,” Kevin Garnett said. “I can remember when he first got here [at the trade deadline in 2011], maybe he was just understanding his role or whatever, at times he was tentative. Now I think he has a different appreciation; he’s playing like it. He’s playing like he knows he’s going to be here, he understands his role, he’s aggressive, and we’re going to need that from him. I told him he has an old-school game, like James Worthy, and to see him back, see him refreshed, doing the things he loves to do, it’s good to see him back, so I’m happy for him.”
ESPN Boston: What did we learn from exhibition season
For some reason, I don’t think Jeff Green is going to correct KG the way he corrected others.
Yes, once again the talk of the morning is all about Jeff Green. And that’s because he once again took the floor and quietly put on a show.
Well, not quiet, actually. A couple of those baskets were quite loud:

We know that he still hasn’t played in a real NBA game, so that mitigates a lot of what he’s done. Some of it has come against second and third teamers. Some of it has come against guys who may have underestimated him. And some of it has come against non-NBA talent.
And when you consider the last preseason MVP was Jermaine O’Neal, the early success doesn’t necessarily guarantee future results.
But it’s hard not to see the things that are there that should absolutely translate to the regular season. The aggressive moves to the basket… the variety of finishes… the ability to knock down jumpers… all really good for a guy coming off the bench. That doesn’t just go away.
Green has done a very good job at picking his spots, exploiting matchups, and scoring without dominating the ball. Add that to all the other weapons the Celtics have, and…
