Your Morning Dump… Where Pierce is really pissing me off

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them
here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite
as satisfying as a good morning dump.

“It’s definitely sore, not 100 percent, but hopefully over this weekend it can get better for the rest of the season,” he said.

Pierce’s struggles, however, are apparent to all.

“He may be suffering,” said coach Doc Rivers “Eight turnovers is too much. He’s not healthy yet. We know that, and that’s why he can’t do too much.”

Pierce, nonetheless, intends to participate.

Herald – Pierce Puts His All-Star Foot to Fire

Paul Pierce looked so slow last night, I'm convinced I could have stayed in front of him. No speed off the dribble and those pump fakes fooled nobody. I'll refrain from using the word "old" because the guy is playing with a foot injury. Which leads me to my point… Why the hell is he playing in the All-Star game? Whether he plays 5, 10 or 15 minutes, is there any doubt he needs all the rest he can get?

On Page 2, WEEI's Paul Flannery sums up my concerns about this team.

The Celtics have been outscored 65-23 in the third quarter of the last
two games, which is an overwhelmingly alarming statistic. Especially
considering their latest misadventure came three days after an epic
collapse that induced all kinds of soul-searching quotes and
reactions.

There’s a week to go before the trade deadline and the Celtics have
shown few signs of breaking out of their funk, which has now stretched
to 23 games. They are 10-13 during that span.

Is this the real Celtics team, or is it the one that started the season winning 22 of the first 27 games?
