Your Morning Dump..Where Rondo Loves Being A Celtic

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

“From media day at the beginning [of the season], that’s what I said initially,” said Rondo, who offered an emphatic “yes” when asked in late September if he desired to stay in Boston.

Rondo is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, though both sides have expressed a desire for a long-term extension.

“Regardless of what’s going on in the season, my perspective hasn’t changed,” Rondo added Wednesday night. “I love being a Celtic.”

Rondo: “I Love Being A Celtic”-Chris Forsberg

I know this stuff will not end until one of two things happen:

1) Rajon Rondo is traded by Danny Ainge

2) Rajon Rondo is re-signed by Danny Ainge

With neither of these most likely happening until closer to this year’s trade deadline, we’ll undoubtedly hear plenty more about it. But I think Rajon’s comments (see video below via Trags) last night post game and those of his close friend Perk mean a lot. Rondo wants this thing over as much as we all do. And Perk saying that he thinks Rajon should stay is big too believe or not. These guys are very close-brothers from another mother would be an understatement. And big brother (can you believe Perk is 30!) says stay:

“I think it’s a great place for him. I think he wants to stay here. We talk on the regular, and I think he should stay,” said Perkins. “If I was him, I’d stay.”

I know there are, and will be many more people giving Rajon their two cents on his decision. But guys that he really trusts like Perk telling him to stay will definitely weigh on his choice. In the meantime however, let’s just try and enjoy the gifted player we have here in Boston, and hope he gets a chance to lead us to another title-with a little help from some friends that Ainge brings in.

Page 2:  Rondo does it all in losing effort

It really doesn’t mean much, as the C’s suffered an embarrassing, loss on their home floor, but Rondo was pretty impressive. The C’s PG came within one rebound of another triple-double, and seems to be recovering just fine from his ACL and hand injuries. Here are the highlights via Piotr Zarychta:
