Your Morning Dump..Where Rondo nets triple-double in new Nike basketball shoe

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Rajon Rondo dropped his 26th career triple-double last night with 17 pts, 12 assists & 10 boards in Boston’s 100-89 win over Charlotte. At first glance, he appeared to be wearing the Nike Hyperdunk. Turns out he actually wore a brand new basketball shoe from Nike-the Zoom Hyperdisruptor. From Eastbay:

The Nike Zoom Hyperdisruptor basketball shoe is minimal yet dynamic. It is built with an innovative one-piece upper and less rubber at the outsole for aggressive traction and an extremely lightweight feel. It’s designed to move naturally with the foot to minimize distractions and help you stay focused on the game. Made with Hyperfuse, three layers of material fused together to create a seamless one-piece upper, results in zones of ventilation, durability and stability.

Rondo’s player exclusive version features a kelly green upper and white swoosh on each lateral side as well as the lower portion of the shoe. This color is currently not available, but Eastbay has them in Sport Grey (pictured below) as well as Black and a new “Vivid Sulfur colorway. At just 9.7 ounces with Zoom Air in the heel and toe, these could be a keeper for Rajon.
